CALABRESE: RESPONSES TO THE CANDIDATES IN SEARCH OF THE REGIONAL TREASURE

by VINOCALABRESE NEWS, I get and public

Four questions about the wine Calabrian candidates for president of the Calabria Region

'S ANSWERS Callipo
1. Each wine producer uses to bureaucracy about 1 / 3 of his time, effort increases even more for small businesses. Within the regional powers, what will you do to reduce bureaucracy?
The slowness of the bureaucracy, heavily influencing many regional production areas. They are not only the result of poor administrative organization but to their It is based on the weight of a policy that has long used the government making it an instrument of patronage and control of voting. The same problem has always been what I call "the Mafia with the pen" and that affects the very development of our region. That is one of my first actions, if I am elected president of the Calabria region, it will be time to reorganize the regional machine that will become the engine of the peaceful revolution in my mind, through the introduction of greater empowerment of employees, incentives for works better transparency in the management of documents. In this regard I have in mind an office, which depends directly from the Presidency, with the task of check, according to reports in industry, commerce, crafts, etc.., delays or inconsistencies with the procedures. It is clear that the wine sector presents particular problems in this area and need to acquire specific skills because I think it is a strategic sector for Calabria, undersized and underestimated. To promote greater coordination between agencies responsible for planning, monitoring, management of the sector is certainly one of the most urgent to implement strategies to meet the wineries in terms of providing care and services against national legislation and Community I can be wide and constantly evolving.

2. The Calabrian wine production despite thousand-year history is almost unknown to the public. What are the strategies it intends to pursue the enhancement of Calabrian wine world?
's true. Despite the important story, a good consumer is not aware of the role he played in Calabria as a center for the dissemination of Greek culture, for example, that the originator of the winemaking world. Or even worse, who knows the legacy of the Calabrian wines then collides with a distribution that does not make honor. It must be said that in recent years, the situation seems somewhat better, but much remains to be done on the side of application. It seems to me that the region has until now concerned only with contributions and grant funding aimed at intensifying the production of wine. But on the demand side, which today is the most critical variable that has been done? Little or nothing. Any investment decision to take the policy, and I say this as an entrepreneur, must be preceded by a comparison with the industry. It is unacceptable that, as often happens, substantial regional budget are allocated for implementation of events or advertising campaigns of dubious effectiveness, without taking into due consideration the real needs of business.

Così facendo, le aziende avranno maggiori garanzie per i propri investimenti nella qualità, contando sulla possibilità di poter concentrare le proprie attenzioni on vines that bind to the territory and the history of Calabria, but at the same time they are officially recognized, therefore expendable in terms of marketing and communications. Then serves as my friends often say entrepreneurs, a serious and careful enumeration of the shares, with particular attention those that lie unused.

4. The wine market is closely tied to the quality of the terroir of origin. Do you think that the difficulties in selling the wine Calabrian are linked to widespread devastation of the area? If so, what do you plan to do to prevent further destruction and to remedy what has been done?
are two seemingly different problems. Dobbiamo ripulire la Calabria dall’immagine di un territorio dove la criminalità, illegal building, lack of infrastructure, poor health care, patronage played a dominant role, distancing the people from choosing the products or Calabria Calabria as a destination of their travels. Specifically, at the regional level should seek greater synergies between the tourist and the proposal of the Calabrian wines. E 'is unacceptable that many accommodations in the region, even today, the supply of Calabrian wines is very limited or even absent. How can we think that people buy our products, if already in our region and favorite products are often offered in other regions? In this sense, the region should increase the awareness of operators through wider dissemination of knowledge of regional wines and incentive systems for the integration of wine in their structures, in concert with the wine producers.
